Who is Arxie?
ARXIE is an approach to the personality and philosophy of Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria (House of Habsburg). The young "Arxie", as he was affectionately known at court, was a curious, clever boy with a great interest in languages, drawing, natural sciences and geography.
He dedicated his life to travelling and exploring the Mediterranean, especially the Balearic Islands. In 1867, he came to Mallorca incognito as the "Count of Neudorf" and bought numerous important estates, including Son Ferrandell - the first estate he visited, which still belongs to Richard Rasmussen Oliver, the founder of Arxie. His estates included Miramar, Son Galceran, Son Marroig, s'Estaca, Son Moragues, Son Gallard, Sa Pedrissa and Can Costa. His love of nature, culture and art made him a true patron of the arts.
"S'Arxiduc", as he was known in Mallorca, wanted to awaken public interest in the landscape and its historical treasures. In doing so, he became Mallorca's first "investor" and "conservationist" - a commitment that later even contributed to the protection of the Serra de Tramuntana, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011.

The Story Behind
Richard Rasmussen Oliver is the owner of the historic residence Son Ferrandell of the Archduke (Arxie) and Posesion del Archiduque S.L., founder and promoter of the urbanisations George Sand, Chopin and Shangrila in Valldemossa.
He is a member of the Oliver family, who have been owners, landlords and sales agents in Mallorca for over 60 years - since 1965.
He is deeply rooted in Mallorca and works with important investors, architects and property developers on the island. He offers the advantages of a local agency, complemented by a strong network and the resources of an established company on Mallorca.
